Jefferson Dollars for Scholars is an affiliate of Dollars for Scholars, a division of Scholarship America. Our chapter has been named 2010 National Dollars for Scholars Chapter of the Year. We work hard to be able to provide you--our future leaders--with scholarships to advance your personal and professional growth and help you realize your dreams!

Golden Tassel Gala

Jefferson Dollars for Scholars' signature fundraising event, the Golden Tassel Gala, was named Best of Jeff Charity Event by Jefferson Life Magazine in 2009 and 2010.  Save the Date! The 2010 Golden Tassel Gala will be held on Friday, September 24, 2010 at the Pontchartrain Center.

Congratulations to Golden Tassel Gala supporters Chef Andrea Appuzzo of Andrea's Restaurant, Pastry Chef Jean-Luc Albin of Maurice French Pastries and Five Happiness for being honored as a 2010 Culinary Connoisseur by New Orleans CityBusiness.

Congratulations to Jefferson Dollars for Scholars Executive Director Lisa Conescu and Jefferson Dollars for Scholars board member Ricky Burke, who were as 2010 Jefferson Heroes by Jefferson Life Magazine for their tireless efforts to improve the areas of education, beautification, safety or healthcare in Jefferson Parish. 

Jefferson Dollars for Scholars mourns the loss of Bill Hemmerling, a very influential artist and proud supporter of our cause. He generously donated an original work of art tothe 2009 Golden Tassel Gala and will be sorely missed by all those who knew him personally or appreciated his art.
